  • Welcome to my photography blog!

My name is Arran Moffat and I love photography!

I also like cooking (and eating) good food, travelling, hanging out with my lovely family and most recently attempting to stand on a surf board.

I work in the events industry and do photography in my spare time. This means that I'm passionate about photography - it'll never be "just a job" to me.

I live in Edinburgh, UK and enjoy the raw emotion of wedding photography, stunning beauty of landscape photography and the joy of baby and family photography.

I hope you enjoy the pictures on this site and please feel free to leave comments.

Woof! Introducing Mr Baxter Buchanan | Edinburgh Dog Photography

This is wee Baxter Buchanan. He’s only little and won’t be this size for long! We had a great time on Portobello beach taking some pictures of Baxter with his doggy parents Scott & Jill, who’s wedding pictures I took a few years ago.

2012 Edinburgh Central SNP Council Candidates

Today the 2012 City of Edinburgh council election votes are decided and counted at Meadowbank Stadium. I spent a day taking pictures of some SNP Central Council Candidates for their leaflets and here are a few from that shoot. As you can see, the weather was amazing. Good luck Alasdair, Denis, Gavin, John and Catherine!

Lauren and Andrew Wedding Photography | Corstorphine and Capital Hotel, Edinburgh

Lauren and Andrew were married at St.  John The Baptist’s Church in Corstorphine, after which we went to Cramond Brig for some portraits. The light was soft and beautiful and the bridge was a really romantic and symbolic setting. Needless to say, the couple were radiant. The wedding reception was held at The Best Western Edinburgh Capital Hotel on Corstorphine Hill.

Scottish Rugby chooses my Salt ‘n Sauce picture for their advert

So, there I was, doing a spot of Christmas shopping minding my own business when I get an email from Scottish Rugby asking to use one of my pictures on their advert for the Boxing Day darby against Glasgow. Naturally, I was more than happy for them to use my brown sauce on chips photo (see below) as we all know: Salt and sauce beats salt and vinegar hands down!

Can’t wait to see if that applies to the game…

Scott Moffat - Hi Arran…it’s a bit dodgy for me; a Scottish rugby fanatic to view your “Salt’n Sauce” at 5.00am, after the Christmas and New Year holiday but congratulations on capturing a superb Scottish rugby “icon”….isi
